Saturday SERVE Opportunity
A few hours this Saturday morning will help finish the task of restoring Ms. Woods home in Pratt City. This Saturday, August 6 from 7:30am – around noon, we will:
- Finish caulking & painting the exterior of the home
- Re-setting her chain link fence
- Basic landscaping (mulching, raking, cutting grass, casting seed and hay)
- Pouring a concrete ramp landing
Location: 2401 Lafayette Street, Birmingham, AL 35214 (just off Hwy 78w toward Forestdale) Just past the water tanks in East Thomas, turn left onto Hibernian Street (look for pedestrian crosswalk over Hwy 78), then left on Dugan Ave. and Lafayette Street is a few blocks on the left. House is at the top of the hill on the right. Call Saint if you get lost: 706-5216
A few days after the storm our Disaster relief Chainsaw team removed the trees from Ms. Woods home and tarped the roof. Thanks to a church team from Savannah, GA and Metro Changers the roof is repaired, siding has been repaired, most of the house has been painted, a deck & wheelchair ramp has been installed. Ms. Woods is disabled, bound to a wheel chair, but refuses to get discouraged. As of Saturday, she is now back in her home, but there is still work to be done. Will you help?
